ReStore Warehouse & Thrift Store:

  • ReStore North is located at 3250 La Cruz Way in Templeton.
  • ReStore South is located at 784 High St. San Luis Obispo
  • Volunteers assist with the sale of donated materials and general operations of the ReStore.
  • Volunteers are needed Thu, Fri, Sat 9am-12 or 12-3pm

Committees:
HFH-SLO has the following committees:

  • Public Relations - organize & carry out orientation programs, raise public awareness of Habitat through speaking engagements, public service announcements, & participation in community activities
  • Fundraising - plan fundraising activities & events in accordance with budget needs and Board directions, work with the PR committee to publicize events, carry out fundraising.
  • Finance - monitor the financial records of the affiliate, including annual budget, monthly reports and any other financial aspects as needed.
  • Family Partnership - welcome new families to the Habitat partnership, provide support as they take on the responsibilities of homeownership; serve as the primary liaison between the affiliate and the homeowner families.
  • Building - plan construction, arrange for permits, inspections, materials etc., recruit skilled volunteers, support from the construction industry, & donations of building materials.
  • Site Acquisition - target the areas in the community where Habitat can develop and work, solicit donations of property, identify and recommend property for acquisition to the Board.
  • Church Relations - establish relationships with churches in areas where Habitat is building, recruit church sponsorships, volunteers, & funding support.
  • Family Selection - draft selection criteria and application, screen applications, interview prospective families, recommend families to the Board for home ownership.
  • ReStore Operations - Assist the ReStore manager in the operations of the ReStore.

Construction:

  • Our next construction will be on Traffic Way in Atascadero.. We are currently processing our building application, anticipating construction to begin in early 2008.  We will need volunteers to help with construction and to provide lunches for volunteers.
  • We will notify you about what's going on with construction through the weekly HFH-SLO E-Mail Update or you can call the office at 782-0687.
  • If you know of any property that can be built on right now we would love to hear from you.
