Habitat for Humanity for San Luis Obispo today announced it has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation. $50,000 will go toward the construction of a new home for a low-income San Luis Obispo County family.

An additional $50,000 will help to fund Habitat for Humanity’s A Brush with Kindness, a holistic approach to ensure that families live in safe and well-maintained homes by assisting individual families struggling to maintain home exteriors.

At the same time, A Brush with Kindness will help to revitalize the appearance of neighborhoods, encourage connections within the community, and most importantly, help preserve affordable housing stock.
